Title: “AfrocentriCITY: The Application of Afrocentricity to Urban Development and State Formation.”

    Abstract:

The focus of this presentation is to discuss an upcoming publication series—a sub-project of the African-American Cultural Development Project—that seeks to create a blueprint for the creation of Afrocentric eco-villages, townships, cities, and ultimately states. The aim is to combine the working plans of the following texts into a cohesive blueprint to be implemented throughout the United States, as well as the continent of Africa: i.e., The Destruction of Black Civilization (Chancellor Williams, 1974), Blueprint for Black Power (Amos Wilson, 1998), Black Africa: The Economic and Cultural Basis for a Federated State (Cheikh A. Diop, 1987), Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome: America’s Legacy of Enduring Injury and Healing (Joy Degruy, 2005), and Sovereign Evolution: Manifest Destiny from “Civil Rights” to “Sovereign Rights” (Ezrah Aharone, 2008). The plans outlined in these texts will provide the framework for the project, but will be combined with solutions provided by the 4Keys To Sustainable Communities series created by Gaia Education regarding the development of eco-villages and sustainable technologies. The publication series will focus on 5 critical areas: Social, Ecological, Economic, Worldview, and Defense/Security.

With the increase of hostilities by Anti-African forces around the world, evolution is forcing African people to think differently and adapt in ways that guarantee their survivability. With the wealth gap widening, automation threatening job security, the rising cost of health-care, and the increase of deaths by the hands of race soldiers, the time is critical to develop and implement more sovereign-based solutions. As it is increasingly becoming clearer by the day, African people in the United States need their own sovereign spaces to better guarantee their safety and security. This publication series (currently untitled) will show future generations how to successfully create those spaces on the level of the eco-village, township, city, and state. This publication asks the question, “What does an African-Centered city look like? And how would we go about bringing it into fruition?”
